TutorCruncher is the tutoring platform we use to facilitate tutoring at Learn How to Sign. Follow these steps to create an account and book a tutor. There are quite a few steps in the process so be sure to follow this carefully. If you run into any trouble along the way fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page for additional support.
To see available times and book a tutoring lesson click “Sign Up” If you have already created an account you can choose “Login” instead. You can find this at the bottom of this page and the learnhowtosign.com/tutoring page.
Step 2
Fill out this form and click “Sign Up”. Don’t forget to verify that you’re a human 😉
Step 3
After clicking “Sign Up” you will receive an email to “Confirm email address”. Click on that link/button.
Step 4
First you’ll be re-directed to our terms and conditions page. Click “I agree” to continue.
Step 5
By default, when you login to your account you’ll start on the “Dashboard” page. Here you can “Edit” your profile. Click “Edit”.
Step 6
Once you are in “Edit Profile” fill out all of the information you feel like sharing. This is the “Client” profile, meaning this is the account of the person who is paying. There will be an opportunity to make a “Student” account either for yourself or a child in a later step. Here we recommend setting your Timezone and sharing your mobile phone number, that way your tutor can text you if necessary.
Step 7 - Create New Student (Required)
In order to book a tutor, you’ll first have to have a “Student” account. Yes, even if you are the student and have already filled out the “Client” profile. First you click the “My Students” tab, then click “Create New Student”.
Step 8
Fill out all of the information you would like to share about the student(s). If you would like your student to correspond directly with the tutor and receive reminders fill out the email. You cannot use the same email as your client account, but you can leave this field blank.
Step 9 - Book a Tutor
After saving your Student(s) account(s) navigate to the “Book a lesson” tab on the left. By default it only shows the tutors that are available “This week”, so if you’re not seeing who you’re looking for select a future link from the “Show tutors that are available” drop down menu. Once you see the tutor you would potentially like to book with, click “View and book”.
Step 10
View the tutor profile, then click “Book a lesson” if you would like to proceed with this tutor.
Step 11
Here in the “Book a lesson with ______” page, you’ll be able to browse and select the available time that works for you. If you don’t see any available times, try clicking the next/previous button to find open slots.
If you haven’t created a student account, you’ll likely see the below message. You do not need to contact an administrator, you can just add one yourself as seen in Step 7.
Step 12
On this step you’ll need to confirm the lesson times and tutor. If everything looks good you can click “Book lesson”. The “Subject” and “Teaching level” is optional information about your signing ability. Your tutor will check in with you before your session to gather this info and more.
Once you have clicked “Book lesson”, you’ll receive a confirmation message at the top of the page.
Step 13
You also should receive a confirmation email verifying the booking information.
If you navigate to the “Calendar” tab, you can see all of your scheduled lessons. Clients can see all of their students lessons on their calendar.
You can click on a lesson and choose “More Details” to see booking details and cancel your appointment. Cancellations must take place at least 24 hours in advance or you will be charged.
Step 14
Your tutor will need to confirm your session before it is officially booked. Once they do so you should receive an email from them and from tutorcruncher confirming your appointment. In this email you’ll see the link “TutorCruncher Video” to join the live lesson.
